Sime Darby Industrial Academy was established in July 2002 to cater for the nation's needs and requirements for skilled manpower, and also for the training and development needs of Malaysian industries.
Sime Darby Industrial Academy is a subsidiary of Sime Darby Industrial Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Tractors Malaysia (1982) Sdn. Bhd.) which is a member of Sime Darby Group.
Sime Darby Industrial Academy has been training thousands of Malaysian youths and school leavers for employment in various industries in Malaysia and overseas, covering the fields of constructions, infrastructures, quarries, logging, mining, power generation and marine. Some of the graduates are highly sought after by major foreign companies. Tractors Malaysia is fully committed to people development for both its in-house business units as well as its external customers.
Sime Darby Industrial Academy is an approved National Vocational Training Centre, recognised by the Skills Development Department, Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia.
All Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK) programmes conducted by Sime Darby Industrial Academy comply with the learning and practical modules as required by the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) and the certification system of the JPK stipulated by the Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia.
